AIPA received an offer to conduct six days workshop at Pavitra Spa, located at Pokhara Grande Hotel. This was an excellent opportunity to train and develop in-house therapists for the first time, going outside its geographic boundary. Ms. Reena Shrestha, conducted overall training that were subjected “to enhance correct massage techniques” and on “how to improve body posture” while performing a massage.

Mentoring on corrective massage techniques

The major highlights of the workshop were;

  • Spa operation and ethics
  • Customer care techniques before and after service
  • Basic Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Introduction on Swedish Facial Techniques class with a demo on lymphatic facial nodes.
  • Corrective massage techniques and basic introduction to body toxins, its formation and drainage through massage application.

The entire therapist actively participated in theoretical and Q&A sessions. There were four technical and two management staffs, actively engaged in the discussion, where we discussed on basic spa facility improvement. That includes upgrade in selling skills for the receptionist, to whom guests are interacted at first sight. As from technical aspect, therapist seemed assertive and their learning behavior was just impressive. In the sense that, throughout the workshop,

they worked very hard in memorizing the correct massage steps for Deep Tissue massage. In fact they learned very quickly and applied accordingly.

We thank Pavitra Spa for this win-win opportunity to meet, train and motivate the enthusiastic therapists. The whole six days were more funful. As a service provider, we were immensely satisfied by the individual performance and their style of learning. And at some point we believe to have the necessary positive changes individual wise, and spa operation wise.
