Why study Spa Management?
The program focuses on managing and improving an existing spa.
A skilled therapist understands treatment. A trained spa manager has responsibilites to understand the people, systems and make decisions that allow a whole spa to perform well.
This course connects those responsibilities with opportunities to develop responsible wellness experiences and stronger career pathways in Nepal’s spa sector.
What you will learn
This course aim to develop the capacity to manage daily spa performance, support a safe workforce, and appraise a commercially viable spa cluster or enterprise improvement.
This course is suitable for practising therapists, spa receptionist and operations staff, hospitality employees, current supervisors and existing spa operators.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Analyse a spa’s operating model, guest journey and market position
- Plan rosters, appointments, room use and daily team briefings.
- Review service quality and respond appropriately to complaints.
- Support staff development, fair work practices and career progression.
- Identify safeguarding risks and follow incident reporting procedures that protect both clients and therapists.
- Read basic spa performance figures, cost a service and test whether an improvement is commercially feasible.
- Evaluate a menu change, wellness partnership, marketing initiative or facility improvement.
- Present a costed 90-day Spa Management Improvement Plan.

The course combines guided reading, Nepal & International based case analysis, commercial exercises, management discussions and assessed simulations.

Assessment and Certificate
Assessment consists of a management portfolio, a simulated spa shift and an oral/verbal presentation of your improvement plan.
To receive the AIPA Certificate in Spa Management, learners must achieve the required overall result and pass the safeguarding and financial feasibility assessments separately.

Can I join if I work in a hotel but have never worked in a spa?
Yes, if you meet the entry requirements. A short spa-service orientation may be recommended before the course begins.
Can I use my own spa for the final project?
Yes, if you have permission to use its information and remove identifying guest and staff details. AIPA also provides a case-study spa.
Will I be qualified to work as a spa manager immediately?
The certificate provides helpful and assessed management learning. Employers will also consider your previous experience, judgement and performance in the role.
Is the online certificate assessed differently?
Is this the same as Spa Business Startup?
No. Spa Business Startup focuses on planning and launching a new enterprise. Spa Management focuses on leading and improving an existing spa.
