Aim of the Course

This course prepares candidates with the essential knowledge and training required to work efficiently and effectively in spas worldwide.

  • Professional Competence:

    Successful graduates will be able to carry out aesthetics and therapeutic treatments in a safe and competent manner

  • Scientific Foundation:

    Candidates will study the chemical and physical processes underlying body treatments, cosmetic products, and electrical therapies.

  • Anatomical Understanding:

    Candidates will gain understanding of Human Anatomy and Physiology in detail, enabling them to perform efficiently with theoretical insights.

    Successful graduates wil be able to apply commercial and ethical knowledge to manage or operate a spa business.

Spa Therapy Course Syllabus

Total: 540 Credit hours.

The following are the compulsory Subjects provided by CIDESCO HQ:

  • 1.0 Natural Sciences – Chemistry and Physics
  • 2.0 Human Anatomy & Physiology
  • 3.0 Skin / Dermatology
  • 4.0 Hygiene and First Aid
  • 5.0 Face & Body Treatments including massage
  • 6.0 Cosmetic Products – Cosmetic Science
  • 7.0 Nutrition – Diet
  • 8.0 Spa Framework (underpinning knowledge)
  • 9.0 Professional Ethics
  • 10.0 Commercial Studies / Business Studies
  • Research Paper: Water Supply and Management paper - 2500 words

Graduation Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements to graduate from the course:

  • Attendance: 95% physical attendance is mandatory.
  • Research Paper: Candidates must complete a project on a 2,500-word Water Supply and Management topic.
  • Portfolio of Evidence (PoE): Candidates must submit a portfolio, which is a mandatory prerequisite for sitting the final exams
  • Examination: Must score minimum of 70% in theory and practical examination

Entry Requirements

An "excellent" or "very good" level of English is required to handle the written, oral, and practical components of the course.

  • No Prior Experience: The course requires no previous beauty or spa therapy knowledge
  • Academic: +2 or Equivalent. Gap Year students are welcome.
  • Age: At least 18 years old & above

Examination

The examination for the Spa Therapy Diploma consists of a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) paper and a practical exam.

The exam is conducted at and by AIPA. 

Spa Facilities

AIPA has all the facilities needed for this course on-site in our premises. AIPA allows the use of equipment and facilities to learn the Spa Diploma, so that candidates can have access to the equipment for training and examinations.

Yes, the CIDESCO Spa Therapy Diploma is recognized within the spa Industry worldwide.

In some countries, a national diploma may be required to be able to work within that region.

This requirement is mandatory for all enrolled candidates. Candidates are required to research and submit a document, before obtaining a qualification in Spa Therapy.

This research paper tests candidates' knowledge of water quality, conservation, and treatment technologies within a spa environment.

No, AIPA does not offer an online course. It's a classroom-based, hands-on training. Candidates are required to be present 95% of the total 540 hours of class/credit hours.

FYI, AIPA has its own private building and is based in Basundhara, Kathmandu. AIPA has NO substitute training centers elsewhere.

The CIDESCO exam procedure involves completing a minimum of 600–1200+ hours (depending on the diploma) at a registered school, followed by a three-part examination:

  1. a theoretical multiple-choice exam (MCQ),
  2. a practical exam (facial/body/spa), and
  3. a project with case histories (2,500–4,000 words).

Candidates must pay exam fees in advance to confirm their seat.
Candidates must pass all sections and secure at least 70% to receive the diploma.

Note: AIPA is a registered CIDESCO training school in Nepal. 

Candidates are allowed two re-takes, free of charge, within two years after the 1st examination.

Enrolled students will get a unique student ID. Certificates and transcripts arrive at AIPA directly from CIDESCO HQ.
